UPDATE: The Nuna Mixx has been revamped for 2017 – Read the full review of the new Nuna Mixx2 here.
Nuna is a fairly new, Dutch-founded company with minimalist ideals. They take away some unnecessary bells and whistles so that you get the most functional product with a sleek and gorgeous design. Nuna applies this basic approach to all of their products. The Nuna Mixx hit the market this year in a BIG way! I have been using the Mixx with my 15 month old son, Luke, for a couple of months and we both love it. My only regret is that we didn’t have it earlier!

Unique “Z-Frame”
The Mixx has all of the features we’ve come to expect on a luxury stroller and more! The reversible seat reclines all the way flat facing both directions. Combine that with an adjustable footrest and you get a completely flat position that is newborn-safe, eliminating the need for an extra bassinet. The frame of the Mixx is so unique, it has a zig-zag shape from the side. It folds compactly with the seat attached in both directions! The whole stroller weighs about 25 pounds, so even with the seat attached it is easy to lift in and out of the back of my car.

Compact Fold

Breathable, Mesh Windows

All-Terrain Tires
My family spends a LOT of time on the go! We go to the playground, the pool, Daddy’s tennis matches and of course, shopping! The Mixx features large, all-terrain wheels with independent suspension you can see at work. This guarantees a smooth ride for baby in all conditions. Bring on the sand, snow and cobblestones! The extendable canopy is HUGE! When I have it all the way extended, Luke can touch it with his toes… talk about full-coverage! Of course there is a magnetic peek-a-boo window on top for silent viewing. There are also mesh “windows” on both sides of the canopy so baby gets a view and a breeze!

Beautiful Details
The Nuna Mixx comes with the Nuna Pipa car seat adapters to create a luxury travel system. I won’t get into too much detail about the Pipa here but I LOVE it! It has tons of extra safety features and an extended weight limit of 32 pounds! Other included accessories with the Mixx are the rain cover and swing-away bumper bar.
Nuna’s precision to detail really shows in the upgraded fabric and huge storage basket (with compartment divider.) The Mixx is tough enough to be your all-terrain stroller, light enough for everyday use, newborn-safe with a 55 pound weight capacity. Available at an incredible price point, the Nuna Mixx can TRULY be the only stroller you’ll ever buy!

Luke-Approved!

Does the nuna mixx stand on its own when folded? How would you compare with uppababy?
Ellena
Hi Aaron – the Mixx does not stand on its own. The Mixx is very comparable to both Uppababy strollers, but most similar to the Uppababy Cruz. You can compare them here – http://site.pishposhbaby.com/blog/2015/03/12/compare-stokke-scoot-vs-nuna-mixx-vs-uppababy-cruz-vs-bugaboo-bee-3/

Is the buckle easy to press open? My son is quick to escape strollers, so I need something that isn’t easy for a toddler. He escapes my baby jogger city mini gt in seconds and can easily escape my friend’s vista. I like the mixx, but I don’t want to buy another stroller I can’t use!!

Hi there, I have only ever seen the Mixx on the internet and the seat looks deceptively small despite the large maximum weight the stroller can take. I am torn between this and the Armadillo Flip XT. Do you have any advice between the two?
Ellena
Because we do not sell the Armadillo Flip stroller, I can’t compare it to the Mixx, but I can reassure you that the seat on the Mixx is actually quite big. You can see 16-month old Luke in the seat in the video. The seat is quite tall and a high weight capacity. Because the footrest is not attached to the seat, you have plenty of leg room as well.
Ellena
The buckle is a “quick-release” similar to the UB Vista but the release button isn’t as large.
Alina
Will they be coming out with any new accessories for the Mixx in 2016?
Ellena
Yes! nuna is expected to release the Mixx Bassinet this year!
Judith
I’ve read amazing reviews about the mixx, though some small percentage said that the wheels get squeaky and it’s not an easy push and soft light ride. I would be using it on bumpy and icy sidewalks. Is this stroller for me?
Ellena
The Nuna Mixx is an awesome stroller, though there was a batch that did have wheels that squeaked. Nuna does stand behind their products 100% and will replace the wheels if they do have that issue. In terms of the push, the Mixx pushes like a dream with its tough, foam filled all terrain tires and front and rear wheel suspension. It can be pushed on all surfaces be it bumpy, rocky or uneven ones.
Jenny
Is the Mixx able to convert into a double stroller? Or do you know if Nuna will be adding that function in the near future?
Also do you have to pump up the tires?
Thanks!
Ellena
There are no plans of turning the Mixx into a convertible stroller or a double.
Yamilet
You can still use the rain cover when the stroller is fully recline ?
Liz
We are going to be traveling with our Nuna Mixx next month. Do you have any recommendation on a travel bag for it? We have to bring it on a plane. And do you know when they plan to release the bassinet? Thank you in advance!
Ellena
Unfortunately, Nuna does not make travel bag, however , we do sell the Valco Universal travel bag that cna fit most single strollers,. As of now, there is no Nuna bassinet, it is in the making :).
Ellena
You can still use the rain cover when the Mixx is reclined. The canopy will keep the cover from falling down onto baby.
Kd
When is the new Nuna mixx release date? I wish mixx has red in color. Hopefully Nuna will add red color in future.
Ellena
As far as we know – the Nuna Mixx remains the same for 2016. We do not know of any red color coming out in the near future, but you never know…
Lana
Is Nuna Mixx compatible with any other car seats like Maxi Cosi or Cybex?
Gina
can my cybex aton 2 attach to the Mixx?
Ellena
Yes – it is compatible with the adapters that come with the Mixx
Ryan
Hi. I would just like to ask about the squeaking break of nuna mixx. How can we fix this one?
Ellena
Hi Ryan – reach out to Nuna’s amazing customer service team at 855.686.2872 and they can help you out.
June
is there adaptor for a chicco keyfit infant carseat for Mixx?
Ellena
As of yet, there is not…
Jennifer Kim
Is there any stroller organizer that will fit the Mixx? We’ve tried 6 different brands and none of them fit the curved stroller handle…
Kaitlin Rothstein
I am looking to trade in my UB Cruz for a Mixx. We live in a historic area with a lot of brick and cobblestone walkways and uneven pavement and the Cruz is not a smooth ride. I know the UB Vista would be but we no longer need the bassinet (baby is 11 months). Is the Mixx comparable to the Vista as far as ride goes, or should we be looking for a Vista?
Jana
I saw that you said a Mixx bassinett would be coming out soon, but I emailed Nuna and they said “Currently the Mixx stroller does not have a carry cot option. The IVVI carry cot cannot adapt to the Mixx stroller and we have not developed an adapter to allow this to happen. We have sent your request to our design team so they understand that this is a request for use of the product,” So I am curious if you have some insider info on the carry cot. I am in love with this stroller and based on reviews picked it over the Uppababy Cruz, but I was interested in the bassinett option. I ruled out the IVVI due to the weight and large size. I have not purchased this yet as I am not due til September 1st, but I am hoping by then some form of a bassinett would be out.
Ellena
Hi Jana, Nuna has definitely mentioned in the past that they would like to introduce a bassinet for their Mixx in the near future, but there are no promises.
Eileen
Hi Ellena, between the Mixx and the UB Vista or Cruz, what would you recommend? I am looking for a smooth ride and all terrain wheels to fit my 8 month old comfortably.
Ellena
Hi Eileen – we must get the same question you are asking around twenty times a week. All three strollers are amazing choices and it’s hard to pick one. If you own either the Nuna Pipa or Uppababy Mesa car seats, then I’d stick to the same brand for the stroller. If you do not, then it’s really up to you as to what you want to do.
Tatiana
Hi Ellena,
finally we have decided on the Nuna Mixx stroller although it is being dificult to choose between the caviar color or the basil one. Can you please point the advantages and cons. of each color.
Thanks for your attention.
Tatiana
Victor
Hello Ellena, At this moment I’m between two stroller the nuna mixx and the all new baby jogger city premier. Coul you please recommend one of this two or tell me pros and cons of each one to do more easy my choice? Thanks.
Ellena
The Nuna Mixx in caviar is black so a bit more practical as it is darker and the Basil is more of a khaki color- lighter and can get show dirt more visibly. The configuration of both are the same
Ellena
Because of the handlebar shape, it will be harder to find an organizer that fits. I recommend going down to a Buy Buy Baby or larger baby store where they sell the Mixx and universal organizers and test them out.
Ellena
Hi Kaitlin – I just took a vote here and our entire team agrees that you should be looking at the Mixx. It features better wheels that will def give you a smoother ride in the area you live in. Plus the price point is significantly lower than the Vista.
Emily
Does the Nuna Mixx has a buggie board or can a universal be used with it?
Ellena
Hi Emily – there is no buggy board from Nuna for their strollers. We have not tested it with any universal boards – I’m sorry.
Meri
How is the Mixx with traveling? I love this stroller system but I live in Bangkok and will need to rely on mass transit and taxis a lot. Will this stroller be easy to maneuver around? Also we travel frequently and will need something that’s easy on planes, and won’t cause too much hassel in places that aren’t stroller-friendly.
I know I can always purchase a travel stroller but would prefer to keep my life simple and (hopefully) only own one stroller. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!
Ellena
Based on what it sounds like you need, the Mixx would not be a good fit. It’ll be a bit too big and heavy for easy transport. If you are looking for an all-in-one stroller that features a reversible, reclinable seat and can hold a car seat or bassinet as well, I highly recommend taking a look at the Bugaboo Bee3 (http://www.pishposhbaby.com/bugaboo-bee3.html – I personally own this stroller and LOVE!) or the Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip XT (http://www.pishposhbaby.com/mamas-papas-armadillo-flip-xt.html) . Let me know if you have any other questions.
Maiko Stillman
Hello!
Just purchased mixx and PIPA for my very first child! I am really excited to use them but I have a question…
Does PIPA wobble when it’s installed on Mixx stroller…? Or should it be completely locked in and doesn’t move at all?
My PIPA wobbles when it’s installed on Mixx so I was really worried if it’s normal.
Thank you in advance!
Ellena
Hi Maiko – the Pipa should fit in quite securely and firmly and should not wobble at all. Either it’s not installed properly or there may be something defective in the adapter. I suggest calling Nuna directly and they can help you out with figuring out the issue. Best of luck

Hello. Is the Mixx compatible with Maxi Cosi car seats?
Ellena
Officially, the Mixx is not compatible with the Maxi Cosi car seats. However, we’ve tested the compatibility in our showroom and it does fit.
Ana Galatas
Is there a Mixx bassinet stand available?
Ellena
There isn’t…
Christie
Hi Ellena, I am between the Mixx and Bumbleride Indie. Do you have a clear favorite between the two? I’m looking for an everyday stroller that is all terrain and easy to maneuver through store aisles. Thank you for your help!
Christie
Ellena
Hi Christie – both are really really different strollers! When you look at both of the strollers, you’ll see what I mean:) We don’t have a favorite between the two, but they both work well for all-around + rougher terrain. The Mixx has the benefit of a reversible seat and is more of a full-featured stroller. The Indie boasts a smoother push and smaller simpler fold.
Crox
Hey there, great review thanks so much . Im from canada and the line of nuna products seems fairly new here. We were dead set on purchasing the bugaboo cameleon3 when we walked into our local baby store and came across the nuna mixx and we think we found our stroller, my concern is what am i getting with cameleon that i wont get with the mixx?? I mean for the diffrence in price?thanks
Ellena
Hi Crox – both the Mixx and Cameleon3 are top choices and both offer different things. The Cameleon3 seat converts into a proper and complete bassinet, while the Mixx seat lays flat, but does have a bassinet option (unless you take a look at the limited edition Nuna Mixx Jett). The Mixx offers a larger underseat basket and a one-piece fold. The Cameleon3 folds in two separate pieces, but is a more compact fold. The Cameleon3 is a bit of a sleeker ride.
JLuo
We got the Nuna Mixx JETT collection with the bassinet and the pipa car seat. Our first baby is due to arrive in the next couple weeks and we are now making the final preparations. We were thinking about using the bassinet as a place for the baby to sleep, so it is easier to reach for feeding. Is this a good idea? Also, does Nuna sell a carry cot stand? I’ve seen it online for different markets, but it doesn’t seem that’s available in the US. Is there an alternate carry for stand that you’d recommend? Thanks!
Ellena
Hi Jluo, Nuna does not currently sell a carrycot stand for their Mixx Bassinet. The bassinet is not tested for overnight sleeping, but many parents do use it that way, so it is up to your discretion. We have not tested the Mixx bassinet on any other carrycot stands from other brands.
bagus
Hello, thank you so much for great review. Me and my wife travels a lot,so,does nuna mixx is good for gate checked at the airport? Or considered as standard baggage? Just curious, since nuna mixx price isnt cheap for us. Thanks
Ellena
Hi Bagus, – the Mixx is a great stroller. When you fly with it, you gatecheck it right before you board. It is not considered luggage or a carry-on.
Sue
Hi, did you ever find a stroller organizer that fit? Thanks
Salma
Hi! I’ve bought the Nuna Jett Mixx and I’m in love with it but I was about to purchase the Maxi Cosi and unlike all the other strollers, I’ve heard Nuna is only compatible with Nuna car seats, is that true? I was all set on the Maxi Cosi and that’s the one I really wanted.
Ellena
Hi Salma – actually the information you got is incorrect. All maxi cosi infant seats will fit directly on the Mixx without the need for any additional adapters.
Velina
Hi Ellena
I would like to ask which car seats (except Pipa) can be used with Nuna Mixx stroller and can i use the adapter for Pipa for them?
Alan Bountham
Can this be converted into a double stroller?
Ellena
It cannot
Ellena
Right now, the Mixx is not compatible with any car seats aside from the Pipa. However, the Maxi Cosi and Cybex car seats will fit as well.
Marina
Hi! Just want to make sure I got it right… the Maxi Cosi car seat does fit in the Nuna Mixx? Do I need any adapters? I already have the Maxi Cosi car seat and was just about to buy the pipa only because the nuna people told me they weren’t compatible, but if i could save those $300 USD i would love it! thank you!
Ellena
Hi! Maxi Cosi car seats fit directly onto the Nuna Mixx2 with the included adapters. There is no need to purchase a new car seat.
Cathy
I was wondering if the height of the seat was an issue. How tall can the child be before they need a new stroller?
Ellena
The Nuna Mixx stroller has a pretty tall seat, so you should be fine for year.
Caitlin
I would love to find a toddler board that works with my 2015 Mixx. Since your post, have you all tested to see if any other ones can be made to work?
Ellena
Unfortunately not:(
stephanie
Do you need the ring adapter for the maxi cosi mico 30 or will it fit with the adapters that come with the nuna mixx2?
Ellena
It works with the adapters that are included with the Mixx stroller.
Tamara
Does the Nuna mix jet car seat fit on the Nuna mixx? As one company said yes and another said no
Ellena
Of course it fits! The only Nuna Pipa that won’t work with the Nuna stroller is the one designed for Stokke strollers.
Carinna
Can I use a ring adapter with my Maxi Cosi Mico seat, or only the adapters included with the stroller?
Ellena
Why would you want to purchase an additional adapter if you can use the adapters that are included?
Christina
is there now an adapter for the chicco keyfit 30?
Ellena
No:(
Jordan
I see that the Mixx (1st version) fits with the included adapters to Maxi-Cosi and Cybex. Are there any other car seats that the Mixx would fit? Ideally more economical choices?
Ellena
No other car seats are compatible with the Mixx2. You can give us a call and we can help you out with pricing
Kesar Van staden
Hi I live in the UK and had a look at the Nuna mixx suited version in Mothercare. I have heard about squeaking wheels & problems with canopy staying open when the seat is in full recline. Please could you elaborate on this as this is the only thing that will sway my decision. Also any major advantages over suited & caviar/ jet apart from fabric?
Thank you
Carrie
Hi. I’m looking at purchasing the mixx2 but currently have a Maxi Cosi pebble infant carrier from baby 1. Will this fit with the provided adapters or is it only Nuna compatible?
Ellena
The Mixx stroller is compatible with Maxi Cosi infant car seats as well. The Pebble is not an American car seat so we are unsure about the compatibility.
Isabel
Hi,
Please could you tell me if when the pushchair seat is parent facing can you elevate it so it is higher up and therefore your baby is closer to tour eye level for better interaction? I know some of the pushchairs I have looked into are higher than others (the icandy peach being one) and I wanted one with the seat as high as possible as I like to chat a lot to her! Thanks
Ellena
Hi Isabel. Unfortunately the Mixx stroller does not have such a feature. If this is important to you, I recommend looking at the Stokke Xplory, Baby Jogger City Select, Silver Cross Wave, or UPPAbaby Vista
