The Basic Difference
We’re going to go in depth here to compare them, however the basic difference is that the Bee5 is a compact urban stroller that is designed for all around the town. The Bugaboo Ant is a super lightweight stroller that is designed best for travel. The Bugaboo Bee5 is a bigger, more sturdy stroller with many more infant options, while the Bugaboo Ant is a tiny folding stroller that is amazing for travel.
Both the Bugaboo Bee5 and Bugaboo Ant can accommodate an infant car seat with the use of adapters. The Bugaboo Bee5 also offers the option for a proper Bassinet, while the Ant uses a cocoon to accommodate infants.
The fold on the two strollers is very different. The Bugaboo Bee5 folds down compactly with the use of two triggers on either side of the stroller, folding in one quick motion. The Bugaboo Ant fold is a few steps, but the final fold is much smaller.
Both the Ant and the Bee5 feature an adjustable handlebar. There are more handlebar positions on the Bee5. The handlebar on the Ant stroller can be extended when the stroller is folded to be used as a trolley handle to pull along.
Both strollers feature all-wheel suspension for a smooth ride. The wheels on the Bugaboo Ant measure 5″/6″, while all four wheels on the Bugaboo Bee5 are 6″.
The canopy on both strollers extends. The Canopy on the Bee5 is slightly bigger. The premium Ant style kits feature a hood with mesh windows for extra breathability.
The seat on the Bugaboo Bee5 is a larger seat than the Ant. Both strollers feature a reversible seat that reclines as well. The Bee5 seat has more recline positions.
The Bugaboo Bee5 includes the rain cover, while the Bugaboo Ant does not. It is available separately.
The Bugaboo Bee5 retails for $739+, while the Bugaboo Ant retails for $499+
